Victorian Herne Bay
HBM
Written by Mike Bundock and published by the Herne Bay Historical Records Society. This illustrated history provides a flavour of what the town was like during its formative years in the 19th century. The population of the town more than doubled during the Victorian era largely as a result of improved transport facilities — initially the paddle-steamer and subsequently the arrival of the railway.
